You have to be able to set the soundcard to allow you to record what your playing. Some have a box you tick in the soundcard mixer so you record what you hear. I'm not sure if this is a feature of basic PC soundcards.0

In audactity - Change from "line-on"/"aux"/"microphone" to "Wave out Mix" to record whatever sound is coming through your sound card.0 -
I used MP3 Recorder Studio.
it records directly to mp3 and gives good quality0 -
Kat MP3 Recorder will record any sounds on the pc in mp3 format.Just remember it will pick up all sounds(ie folders opening etc)0
