audio to mp3 recording

You have to be able to set the soundcard to allow you to record what your playing. Some have a box you tick in the soundcard mixer so you record what you hear. I'm not sure if this is a feature of basic PC soundcards.

sorted. soundcard settings thast i didnt understand, just had a friend round and it's been altered. thanks for your replies

In audactity - Change from "line-on"/"aux"/"microphone" to "Wave out Mix" to record whatever sound is coming through your sound card.

I used MP3 Recorder Studio.

it records directly to mp3 and gives good quality

Kat MP3 Recorder will record any sounds on the pc in mp3 format.Just remember it will pick up all sounds(ie folders opening etc)
