Growing tomatoes indoors, time to separate? *photos*

I always do a few spares in case I encounter a problem. I use around 16 tomato and chilli plants each year, a few will go to various relatives and friends and any remaining I am planning to sell to pay for compost and seedsThat's an astonishing quantity of plants Louts-eater, I'm impressed! If it's not a rude question, how on earth do you manage to eat so many?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Guess my 48 cherry tomato plants could be seen as excessive then
I am only planning on keeping about 8-10 of them but there are always willing takers of tomato plants in my experience... and more likely than not someone will be willing to swap me with some normal tomato's and some beef tomato's
I also have about 30 chilliplants (birds eye) growing - again I only want about 5 - the rest will enter the grand bartering system
Now we finally have allotments in the village again I'm hoping that swapping will be much more prolific so more than happy to grow a few extra of everything I stick in pots anyway as I'm sure one way or another they'll help me get all the seedlings i might want from other growers

Can you 'mad multi tomato growers' tell me if you keep the seeds from last year's plants? Those that aren't F1 that is.
Or do you just use seeds for a few years until they aren't viable.
Just wondered, as I'm really mean with my seeds and you must have had quite an outlay to get this many varieties.0 -
Hi Mrs Mcawber
Thank you so much for that.
I need to be a bit more adventurous have just got allotment and toms in back garden were a bit hit and miss cause I work away a lot. Am going to watch your comments on these and would love next yer to grow some different varieties. I need to be brave and am getting there.
Thank you for all that info it was very much appreciated.:mad:0 -

There is a flower on one :j
The tomato feed's label has come off, but I've already been told that I start using tomato feed when I get fruit. Can someone tell me the quantity though?Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
