Proof of deposit - internet bank vs paper = ahhhh!

My mortgage application is going through and understandably the lender (Abbey) wants to see two things...
1) proof of my deposit
2) that it be in the account from which the deposit will come, and the mortgage be paid
This is fair enough, I just need to transfer money over from each source (savings, ISA etc). However my MA says they may not accept scans of documents printed from the internet. Whilst online there is the facility to view and print both current transactions and previous statements, they are not in the exact structure and format that a paper statement would be.
The only alternative is for them to wait until the paper statement is generated, but I don't want to think I'm not "good for the money"!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

But if you transfer money out of ISA before you actually need to and the hosue sale falls through you can't put it back.
have you got originals for the isas? You can get the bank counter staff to witness them and verify a photocopy of them is real0 -
When we sent in bank statements to our mortgage lender prints outs from Internet banking were accepted. As this was Alliance and Leicester which are part of the same group as Abbey you may find there will not be a problem. I would suggest you give them a call and check.

If it did fall through I'd move it out of my current account into an instant access (non ISA) savings account ready for hopefully another sale in a couple of months. It's not as if any of my accounts are throwing interest at me anyway!
Thanks Amanda for your input also - hopefully they will accept them. Only one way to find out I guess!0 -
we have 200k in banks which is my deposit for the house were buying, and a&L accepted printouts when I told them they were all internet account which i dont have paper statements on them and they were fine about it.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

I wasnt asked for proof of deposit, most of it was in a Norwich and Peterborough Esaver. However I did learn that I can only transfer 10k per working day (yes I should have read the small print) - so I had to set up a payment schedule over 6 days in order to get my deposit to the solicitor.0

Go into your internet bankiing, get a screen that shows what you want to present to the finance company, and press "Alt+PrtScrn".
This will copy a screen-shot of your current active window to the clipboard. Paste this into Paint, or a similar picture application, and save it as a picture - bmp, jpg, or similar.
Print this picture.
Present it to the finance co.

Better still (that's if you do have online banking), arrange appointment with Abbey and take your laptop - access the accounts in front of them (manager preferably)Most people are working too hard to make really decent money:eek:0

Hi,
We arranged our mortgage through britannia, and they wanted to see proof of deposit, and how it was built up. They accepted copies of OH's ISA passbook, and pages from my internet banking ISA - I dont think I get paper copies.
I believe they are looking for lump sums, ie money laundering, and whether someone has lent you money that might want it back.0
