I've been Money Tipped!
It may be worth buying the first issue of this just for the free tomato seeds, seed tin and soil testing kit as it's only 99p.

Ok, the seeds are Moneymaker which don't seem to be a favourite but 99p isn't too much if you consider you have something to read too.

It looks like they are £2.99 per issue after the first one and each one includes seeds and a tin.

If you subscribe you can get 3 gifts so I am not sure if it may work out as a decent deal.

I'm a big kid, I fancy buying the first one just for the tin! I remember buying Black Imps just to get the tiny tin to keep my pocket money in.

I was recently in hospital and my husband brought me the current Amateur Gardening which cost on £1.80 and included some antirrhinum seeds. I enjoyed the magazine and can always use these particular seeds. I'll have a look for the one you mentioned. My seed tin is an old biscuit tin - one of the big ones - and is packed. I love growing from seed. By the way I grew Moneymaker last year and we liked them.

I've looked everywhere for this and can't find it in any newsagents.

It does say WH Smith and other good newsagents on the site, have you tried Smiths? I think they will order it for you if they don't have it in stock.

  • Deagostini is Italian. Maybe it is not out in the shops yet?

I have all of mine in a Roses tin but I think I may have to get a bigger one soon.

I'm glad you said that about the Moneymaker as I bought a packet from Lidl and saw that they are supposed to be tasteless so I ordered some Sungold and Suncherry Premium instead. I think I may germinate some Moneymaker now.

    ;)

I will have a search around our local newsagents tomorrow, they are usually quite good and have a big selection of monthly collectable mags.

There's a forum on the site and someone from Devon posted on the 23 March that they had just bought the first edition.
  • Ok. Will have a look around tomorrow.

I want the tin too, but then I'll want a tin for each of my seed types and they'll never make all the varieties and m collection will be incomplete and I'll be unhappy so I'm not going to start. Looks good though.
