I'm with Numpty on that - I started sending out my CV as soon as my job looked at risk. I also wrote myself a catastrophe budget to see if we could live on OH's wage if we had to - and we could it will be a struggle but we could. We also started putting away some savings for emergencies a few months ago - this is so we can carry on meeting our minimum payments if I lose my job - which I do today.... Luckily tho we have quite a bit saved up now so hopefully we will be okay until I land that next job...Numpty_Monkey wrote: »I've not been in the situation of still being there, but it can't and won't be easy on anyone, left or gone

Actually, bin that, it was just as bad as I expected.
I wouldn't wish anyone to go through a day like today. Everyone sitting around waiting and knowing if they're asked in then it's bad news.
At the moment I've still got a job. Facebook is alive with stories. Tomorrow it's survival mode for everyone left.
I know what it's like - I used to work for a company that was based in the top floor of what's now Renishaw's in Woodchester - in early 2002 I had the pleasure of making a stack of people including myself (and my now wife) redundant as our parent company decided to shut us down.
It's not easy whether you go or stay, or whether you're the guy having to make the decision.
Hope it works out for you...0 -
Good luck with the future....and I'd put in a little word with people about being careful about what they say on "Facebook" - dont forget those privacy settings. We've had another thread on here recently about employers checking out Facebook....:eek:0
