It's going to be grim. We stand to lose about 1/3rd of our workforce and have to go in on Monday to find out who's going and who's staying. I don't forsee it being a lot of fun for anyone.

Good luck - I don't know which would be "good luck" from your persepctive, some people want an excuse to leave without having to make the decision themselves.
What industry are you in?0 -
So I guess you work for Renishaws...
It's a rough world out there what a company like Renishaws are having to lay people off.0 -
Slightly off the wall I know but I was once in your situation and was really fearfull of going in on Monday. On the Sunday night by chance I happened to watch Saving Private Ryan - it suddenly occured to me that compared to what those guys went through I had absolutely nothing to fear. I went in thinking extactly that and later I learnt that my manager was made to feel uneasy when I had a huge grin on when he told me I had lost my job. Kinda puts things into perspective.
Good Luck

Well, it's all happened. It wasn't actually quite as bad as I expected.
Actually, bin that, it was just as bad as I expected.
I wouldn't wish anyone to go through a day like today. Everyone sitting around waiting and knowing if they're asked in then it's bad news.
At the moment I've still got a job. Facebook is alive with stories. Tomorrow it's survival mode for everyone left.Happy chappy0 -
Thanks for letting us know. Sometimes it can be worse for the people who are left. I hope they are looking after the survivors as well as the "let go".0
