help - rp2 form notice pay claim form

Options
hi, im after some advice please.

basically my girlfriend has a full time job, and been here for 10 years or so.

but she also had a sunday job at a department store for 4 years, the company became insolvent and she didnt get any notice - just a phone call on a friday night to say dont come in this sunday were closing.
she has just been paid some pay owing to her and has just received an rp2 form, notice pay claim form.

will she still be entitled to notice pay as it was her second job, she had a contract and i think it says 4 weeks notice???
also theres a part on the form asking did you get another job in the notice period - but she already has a full time job.

is she still entitled to this notice pay even though she has a full time job really.

any helps most appreciated

she should be eligible - as well as her contractual notice she has accrued statutory notice of 4 weeks pay (ie 4 days worth as she works 1 day per week). Please note this does not mean she is eligible for 8 weeks notice just that her notice period is both statutory and contracual

If she is worried that her other job will cause problems here (even though it probably shouldn't) I would consider the question 'Did you get another Sunday job in the notice period' and answer no.

  • Bumping an old thread but staying on topic,.

I was made redundant, but had some savings so worked for free for a couple of people that couldn't afford to pay and then found another job. I didn't apply for jobseeker's allowance or any benefits or anything.

I filled out a form and got my initial redundancy and holiday pay from the liquidators. The liquidator said I'd get the rest of the money (for the month's notice that we didn't get) from the government.

Now I've been sent form RP2B with a covering letter. The covering letter says that I must keep any loss of income to a minimum and claim benefits. Could have done with receiving that letter when I became redundant really - because it also says that:
"any failure by you to take advantage of reducing your loss of income may result in any final payment to you being reduced by the amount you should have claimed but failed to do so".
That seems to suggest that I'd receive that money if I'd claimed benefits but that I won't if I didn't.

Am I right in thinking that this means the money I didn't claim is now going to be taken from the redundancy payout as well?

EDIT: Ha, love that newbie icon. Every forum should have those.
