I'm going to make mousaka because Sainsburys always reduces their lamb mince and I could do with a few new things to cook involving lamb.

Cardomom Creme Brulee - for Sunday lunch as we have friends coming over. I "experiment" on them and the last time it was Panna Cotta, which turned out to be brilliant (even though I say so myself) and incredibly easy to make :j

Need to get a kitchen blow torch for the Creme Brulee, though

My two new dishes for this month are going to be Tamasin DL's pork hock and bean casserole - sounds and looks delicious and is a good thrifty dish - and also thriftlady's chocolate fudge pudding

No need for brawn - just get the butcher to quarter it for you and it should fit in a stock pot or a large casserole type thingie :)

Can't help with that, but have you tried the French Tartiflette?

You can improvise and use ham instead of pancetta/lardons and we never add mushrooms. Plenty of alternative recipes via Google :D

Just have to report that thriftlady's chocolate fudge pudding is absolutely deeeeelicious! :j :D

I made it last night for pudding as I had an unexpected mouth to feed and not quite enough dinner to go around, and they all gave it the big thumbs up! Just one tiny thing - I don't think I'd put as much salt in it again, if any at all, as the sponge did taste rather salty, but apart from that it was lovely! :D

This week it's going to be veggie crisps as I want to try using my dehydrator a bit more and if they are a success then it will save on the amount of crisps I have to buy. I think the V-Slicer will come in handy for this.

a tip for the veggie crisps

make your own seasoning to sprinkle on top by dehydrating a bunch of veg then whiz it through your coffee grinder or food processer to make your own powdered mix, add a bit of salt and maybe some garlic granules (or dry garlic yourself) and you've got a great flavouring to add to the crisps before you dehydrate them

also, for a not so healthy but really scrummy version of veggies crisps sautee all the veg in butter until it starts to go soft, sprinkle on your choice of seasoning then dehydrate mmmmmmmmmm
