Laptop screen problem - help please

    i might have had a similar problem on a friends laptop - but was actually caused by damage to the laptop lid ( i think her hubby thumped it out of frustration - long story). but when I took off the surround I saw that the frame around the screen was slightly dented. pushing gently on the frame corrected the fault - but there was no way that you could get the laptop shell to exert that pressure - I did attempt to bend the frame back into shape but would only have shattered the screen.

    I bought a shell from ebay (same model) and swapped the screens, also the backlight inverter needed swapping (they can be pretty finicky and some even dont like wires being plugged in). all done for under 100 quid.

    (I did try to reshape the screen frame afterwards and it did shatter btw)

    My lsaptop screen doesn't work either (it has klots of lines but no pic) it's an advent. I bought a flatscreen monitor for mine for £45 but now I've watched the you tube video and read all above posts I might look into replacing the screen... Thanks guys
