If your partner has no income then I suspect you would still be entitled to quite a few of your benefits but possibly at a reduced rate. There is a site you can check what you are eligible to claim but I don't have the link for it right now.....I'm sure some kind soul will post a link soon!0

The partner will have income; he'll have Student Loan/Maintenance Grant which will both be taken into account.0 -

May I suggest you drastically improve your spelling and punctuation before starting university!
It may improve your degree prospects in the long run.
I hadn't realised educational standards have drastically dropped that much in this country.
My keyboard actually has a tendency to play up and I did not realise this had to be in essay format, but if that is what you require?
My current degree prospects look very good, but thanks for the concern. I am here to ask for some helpful advice, not to be patronized. If that is all you have to offer, then may I helpfully suggest you do not offer anything?
Thanks to the others0 -

We have a recruitment freeze on at the mo & are actually heavily reliant on temps. I bet a lot of other organisations would be looking fo rtemps too.
Thanks for this. Yes he has, but nothing at the moment. Also looked at building/labouring work etc, but obviously the building trade had dramatically dropped. I have friends who finished uni last May and are still jobless. It's just not the best timing really I suppose!
Thanks anyway, hopefully something will come up0 -

Where in the country are you? I'm in London & colleagues in other cities are reliant on temps as we can't recruit.leannebarry1 wrote: »Thanks for this. Yes he has, but nothing at the moment. If you let us know, we can give you some details of potential agencies."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -

I study and have a 4 yr old, my degree course is done over 2 days a week, so I'm able to study and be a mum too.
But anyways, with your other halves assessment. To not be assessed under his parents, he'd have to be independent financially for 3 years. Definitely talk to your student services, and have a look at direct.gov as it has quite a bit of information on university funding.
