Bradford & Bingley - 1 year fixed rate ISA

Depressed by Husbands very miserable rates on HSBC cash ISA. Spotted Bradford & Bingley's 2.80% rate guaranteed for 1 year. No cash withdrawals or further desposits allowed. They allow transfers from existing ISAs. Does it sound like a good deal?

Sounds alright, but you can get 3.1% fixed for a year from First Direct and HBOS. HBOS also has a one year fix at 3% that allows further deposits and up to 4 withdrawals.

I rang B&B today because I've got a fixed rate ISA due to mature with them shortly. I was considering moving it elsewhere rather than reinvest at 2.80%, but was told that wef Monday, the 1 year fixed rate ISA will be 3%, so I've decided to reinvest with them at that rather than transferring it elsewhere this year as there is little to top that at present for 1 year fixed rates.

I'm sure you're right and we could get higher rates but we just want a very simple straightforward ISA (not linked to internet). Doubt very much that we'd have any spare money to invest in the next financial year. Now it's going to be increased from Monday to 3pc makes it even more appealing.
