Just a thought but if you do decide on a Sunday wedding, you could try and have it on a bank holiday weekend if possible, as majority of people won't have work the next day;)
This is a reason why we have prelimenary decided a friday will be better, ok so a couple of members of family will have to have some time of work but quite a few of them have fridays as lue days.
Have just been to price up kilt hire for OH and my two boys and a wedding dress sale proved disappointing as most of the dresses were damaged in some way.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Have just got back from viewing the venue and discussing pricing options/menus and the likes and have managed to whittle down the original price further i am soooo chuffed.
Bearing in mind the offer in OP we have agreed on 30 for sit down meal as we dont have any friends or family that we could add on to this. And a choice menu where guests are requested to make a choice prior to the day from a selected amount of items. We loose the cake but keep everything else.
The cost is now £450 for the day and an extra £400 for evening buffet based on 80 people approx attending. Optional extras are £185 for DJ and for sit down meal £2 per chair to be covered in colour co-ordinating materials.
To save any faffing around with tables have gone for a large oval table to seat everyone so as more intimate and easier with all family members getting on. I just have to get busy baking fruit cakes (in due time) to help with the day, rather than having shop bought where you cant guarentee the moistness.
I have exactly 6 months to the date today to get everything else to fall into place. The favour bags are made and the sweeties/chocs purchased awaiting to be filled, males have been for their measurements for Highland wear so i only have to find dresses for myself, maid of honour and bridesmaid.
Will be having talks with MIL2B over the weekend to discuss flower options and i think we have covered all there should be. If anyone has any suggestions on anything i could have missed i would be most grateful for the input.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

After the viewing, if you're gut instinct is good - go with it. I've done this with the celebrant for our wedding having only met him once and the fiance not meeting him. As long as they're registered and i'm happy, the's fiance's happy!:rotfl:
I would say, for all the basics, this sounds very good. But do sit down with whoever is providing the money to sort out how money you have for your wedding. If you go with this, you will know exactly how much you have for the other important things i.e., the service and your outfit!! :T We're saving on venues and I've already set out a fair whack for my outfit alone safely. All the others are workable but at least I know my budget for probably the most important outfit of my life and I won't feel guilty. This amount tho will include my hair, beauty and accessories.
If your instincts are good, go with it!

We dont have a budget, we are quite literally going along getting the bare basics and paying what we think is a reasonable cost with out looking like paupers lol.
We have 15grand in the bank which has come from the sale of one home and OH had monies owed from work when they gave everyone the wrong wages for years and was compensated nicely for that. We dont have any debts, all bills are up to date and this years holidays have been paid for. Therefore in theory we should not have to worry about much.
Gift wise MIL2B has said she will influence the family to donate cash/gift cards to use towards either the honeymoon or for us to put towards xmas, i know this is not what you usually do with wedding funds but we have just recently done the whole of the homes interior replacing furniture in every room, flooring and all sorts of other things so we only have the rear garden left to landscape.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
