That sounds like an amazing offer - looking at the wording though I would assume you have to pay for food and entertainment for evening. Even if this is the case it is still amazing!!

I would go along and see them if I were you and just find out a bit more about it

Have just got off the phone to them and made a booking for next week to view suites available. From the phone call this is what we asked and replies.

    1) Do we need to marry on site for promotional price?
No, marry wherever and come back for reception.

    2) What sort of dates are we looking at around the end of this year?
    Mainly fridays or sundays.

    3) From reading website what meals are available to choose from - there are 10 with prices ranging from £24.95pp to £34.95pp
As long as we are not picking all from the most expensive lists there should not be a problem and we can mix and match from two set menus.

4)Will linen in suite match our colour scheme of red, white and black?
White table linen with complimentary napkins etc all in colours to match what we are having so they are flexible on that.

5)Evening wise whats included in price?
The room is free however a buffet is supplied @ £5 a head and it is upto us what we do regarding entertainment - there dj is £185 for the nite whereas we are free to choose our own.

    6) The cake is it fruit, sponge or mix of both?
It comes as a plain iced cake eith fruit, sponge or mix if it is to be decorated it will be an upgrade of £85 with an extra teir for £125

    7) What about drinks on arrival?
These are not included but you can either set up a bar tab or ask guests to pay for their own.

    8) Can we add to the decorations with our own thing without hotel taking offence?
You can have whatever decorations you want with no offence to hotel.

    9) Are there hotel concessions for guests who need to stay over?
twin/doubles are £39.50pp singles £45 with breakfast included.

That sounds really good Stef. You can always decorate the cake yourself with some fresh flowers etc.

You could do with finding out how much wine everyone gets with their meal, may just be a glass each, but tbh this is a cracking deal for just the meal alone! The cheapest I could find where we are is £30 per head.

I have to say that this sounds extremely reasonable and well worth thinking about. Are the dates they have available do-able for yourself and OH and potential guests? There doesn't seem to be any sort of catch and the hotel seem pretty flexible. Friday and Sunday weddings are also becoming more popular anyway so you wouldn't be doing anything out of the ordinary there. Great find and let us know how you get on once you've visited!

We are due to visit on thursday to discuss the finer ins and outs of the offer. As far as i can see on the website they are allowing half a bottle of wine per head.

I also looked on the site to see about supplying our own drinks but with corkage being anything from £8.50 a bottle it really is not worth it.

Have briefly spoken with OH regarding arrival drinks and where to go next, do we offer a tab with a limit of one drink per person or do we request all arrival drinks are paid for by each guest as drinks are supplied with meals and speeches?

I feel a right fish out of water with al of this and as though i am wearing a blind fold.

I would have 1st drink is free along with champagne/fizz for toasts, then if anymore is wanted, they can buy their own.

Can I ask whereabouts it is?

That does sound very good.. we have just chosen our venue and are going to an open day next weekend. it is also a hotel and they do all inclusive packages that include room hire for wedding ceremony, room hire for eveing reception, wedding breakfast for a certain number of guests, wine, matching table linen and seat covers, invites and tables plans, cake stand, free suite for bride and groom, dj etc all for an amazing £2k! I couldn't believe it when i found out!

Taking a breather and reading proposed dates from those of you who have replied i started chuckling to myself - you all have dates for the following year.

Oh and i arent officially engaged yet and are hoping to get it all done before the year is out. (He wont propose yet as his previous marriages divorce is being finalised as we speak - application for absolute went in last week, it has been a long 2.5yrs to get this far so by no means are we rushing it he just has a difficult ex who did the dirty but also wants to have the cake and eat it so to speak.)

  • Wow this deal does sound amazing  Wish I could've found something like that when I got married Hmph!!!

Just a thought but if you do decide on a Sunday wedding, you could try and have it on a bank holiday weekend if possible, as majority of people won't have work the next day;)
