help please

i brought a 42 inch monitor but i want to use it as a television.
the monitor doesnt have a scart socket.
does anyone know how we can connect the virgin box to the monitor please.
we did try one cable and we could view the virgin box through it but we got horizontal lines through the picture.
can someone please help us.
we arent very technical people

Apparenty it has s video / rgb comp input. Could get a scart-> s video + audio out lead from maplins or somewhere.

This quite old, 6-8 years maybe, its a display panel not a TV or computer monitor. What are the inputs labelled up as, and how did you connect up your digibox to it?

You'd then need to hook up some speakers, either connect to aux in on hifi, or 3.5mm jack m-f converter and use pc speakers
