Which I'm sure is Microsoft's aim with the product..
No, their aim is to abuse their monopoly by forcing non-standards compliant browsers on their users, in the hope that the internet will become something one can only use by using their products, thereby locking everyone into using Windows for ever and ever.
It backfired though with the increasing popularity of other, better, browsers, which is enormously gratifying. They have the arrogant mindset of a company that thinks people have no choice but to use their products.
Microsoft's market share is shrinking in just about every area, and long may it continue to do so. It might frighten them into actually making quality products for once.0
