I have made a new friend over the last 6 months through our new babies.
It is her 30th birthday on the 6th October and I am racking my brains as what to buy her. I obviously don't know her that well to spend a lot, but want a special gift as she is kind and generous to us.
I wondered if you had any ideas please?
Thanks a million if you can help?

I would say a planted orchid. Something that feels extravagent, but won't cost more than a £10 ish.0

How about one of the spaceform glass tokens with a 30 on it..they are generally under a tenner, and look good.

I would make her up a pamper kit - a selction of nice toiletries, small box of choccies, small (or large!) bottle of wine, latest chick-lit - if you shop around should come in less than a tenner easily.0

Or how about a couple of tickets for the theatre, and you offer to babysit as well.0

A baby sitting token from you attached to bottle of bubbly?

How about taking you both out for a sauna and jacuzzi etc.Relaxing, time for both of you away from the kids.
I'm 30 in April, and have kids. Not knowing the person, makes it hard to chose them a gift. But for me a bottle of Baileys or Thorntons chocolates always goes down well.
One of the best little pressies I ever received, which has had loads of use,was a navy blue(goes with everything) cashmere pashmina,it's really cosy and can be worn a variety of ways, also makes a cosy blanket for a baby, when out and they need an extra layer.0 -
If you have a nice photo of her baby, whcih she hasn't seen yet, or can take one in a natural way you could put it in a nice frame, or use it to make a birthday card for her to give with one of the other suggestions. Speaking as a mum, I always love getting this kind of gift, and it is a personal one, because you've had to put some of your own creativity into it.0

hi there,
my boyfriend turns 30 in january and we are having real trouble planning his party. firstly where? we live in southampton but want to go somewhere different but not to far, thinking bournemouth, but know little about the place.
the plan is as follows:
to go for a nice meal somewhere probably indian or chinese,
got to a few pubs,
finish up in a nightclub (pref dance - not r&b!) or in a casino.
any recomendations for places would be greatfully recieved. one thing that would help is to have places that are close together. if anyone knows of any places that might do special deals for parties etc then that would be good.
also am hiring a limo to take us there and back, has anyone got any recommendations....
thanks in advance to everyone who repliesgetting married: 02/10/10
