Choosing an Orange PAYG mobile phone.

I hardly ever use my Virgin phone apart from occasional texts when I am out and about and receiving calls from my husband who is on Orange. This is partly because the reception is non-existant in the house and nearby. My husband has no problem with reception on his Orange phone.)My mobile bills go from £4 to £14 per month, but generally are around £7, so obviously I want to stick to PAYG rather than monthly line rental. It presumably makes sense to try Orange Pay as You Go?

My phone is one of those older nokias, which, like the one I had previously, has an erratic battery life. (It runs out of charge quickly and rather suddenly.) So I would like a new phone as well as a new provider.

Anyway... to my question. I am clueless when it comes to phones, and don't know where to begin, and whether the cheaper £19.99 phones represent good value if they are more likely to disintegrate. I like the IDEA of phones that take pictures, but not sure how much I would use it in practice. Any advice? Cheers!
