Trying to open .jpg and .gif attachments

    Not being awkward, honest, but, although I can save it then open it, it annoys me that something that I've done for years no longer happens. It must be fairly simple - it's becoming a challenge now and I don't want it to beat me! :rolleyes:

    It just lost the association with the file type. The steps I gave should fix that.

    It could also be where your email app, or browser uses it's own association (rather than the Windows one) and that's broken. For example in Firefox you can set what app to open certain file types in.

    Just had to say that I am so grateful for any help I get on this forum ref. computers. Being an OS MSE-er means I am not very clued up about them. I hate to ask at work because all I seem to get is the eyes rolled heaven-wards and I can imagine the think bubble with "doesn't she know anything/what an idiot/not again!!" or similar. So to all you brain boxes out there who are very patient with the likes of me, many many thanks :T
