    I do not know that particular company, but that sort of company has a terrible reputation. Any comments I make are not based on that particular company.

    Assume that the price they will pay you will be the figure they reckon they can bang it out at the auction for, less their costs, and less an allowance for them to make a profit.

    If they offer you that sort of figure up front, i.e. a fair bit less than it would reach at auction, then you know where you stand. That is probably the figure they intend to go ahead at.

    If they offer you a much higher figure initially, I would be very suspicious that they will gazunder you later on. There is a risk then that you will have a lot of wasted costs and also that you will have your hopes dashed.

    You really need to ask yourself the question why they would want to buy your property rather than one of the thousands of repossessions available at auction. It is a lot less hassle for them to buy at auction than to do all this advertising, so they must be looking for a bit of a bargain if they are doing it the hard way.
    No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
  • If you need to sell, simply reduce your price.

    These companies are not stupid - they will offer a figure which is a discount on the "real" value. If you are not selling then the price is too high, simple as that.
