We can't sell our house. It's on the market for £360,000, but fed-up of not being able to sell. Thinking of using a company like the above, who buy your house.
I know they will offer less than the asking price, but usually how much less? Also, I know this is a last resort, but apart from the price they offer, are there any other downsides? This company say they don't charge for a valuation.

I had a letter inthe post from them yesterday, saying they have seen that our house is on the market and offering to buy it. I don't think I would be happy with their valuation. I think they'd probably offer you about 300k but that's a guess.I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like?

Some will only offer you 75% which in your case would be £270,000. Surely it would be better to lower the price yourself for a quick(er) sale

Stay away from these sort of companies - they'll make you an offer that you accept, but a week or so from contract exchange they will drop their offer significantly, quoting 'adverse market conditions' to justify their reduced offer."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Stay away unless you are very, very desperate to sell0

How much did you pay for it when you bought it?
How long ago was that?
How much (a) do you want to sell it for now, or (b) how much do you NEED to sell it for?0 -
In most cases you would be better off just reducing your price and selling it through conventional means, or if really desperate considering selling it at auction. These companies are on the whole to be avoided! Especially in this market, they will offer very low, as they then want to turn it around quickly and sell it conventionally and at a profit.Pawpurrs x0

Paid £270,000 for it 6 years ago.
Thanks everyone, it is free so I may just see what they say. It doesn't go on record anywhere does it?Thought processes can be managed positively, so that they help you to achieve what you want, rather than hindering your judgement.0 -

It may be 'free', but selling a £360k house to these guys for 75% of that value yields £270k. They'll probably offer less than 75% ....
If the OP sells conventionally thru an agent who charges a 2%+VAT fee, then if they reduce the price to £300k, that still gets them £293k or so....
Back to my question - how much does the OP want or need to get?0
