Oh dear
Hey I took out a 12month contract with orange two months ago and i am only 17. I've had it now and i've paid the bills but my mum found out the other day and she has gone mental at me. She said that they will do me for fraud even though I am paying the bills
What would orange do if they found out?
How would it affect me in the future
:(:(:(:(
I know I have been really stupid...

Did you lie about your age?
In any case nothing to worry about as long as you stick to the contract (as this won't come to light).
If you do renege on the contract, then they probably will cut their losses, as they will have problems trying to enforce a contract with a minor.0 -
They shouldn't of let you set up a contract (if its in your name) and at 17 you're not bound to contractural law.
But, as above, as long as you keep paying it should be fine.0 -
No they won't. They won't care in the slightest if you continue paying the bills. She said that they will do me for fraud even though I am paying the bills"MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0 -
If they DO find out - service will be curtailed (no incoming or outgoing calls) but they WILL allow you to pay off your contract - rather than default you. They also advise CIFAS, who put a fraud alert on your credit file as a warning to other suppliers. (Basically, it says you lied on your application and to be wary of any other similar arrangements). It may be better to switch to a different network once you are 18 to prevent any problems being backdated!0

The only way this would come to light would be if for some reason you were asked to show proofs of id..
In my experience this would only happen if for some reason or other, when you rang 150 you got your password and some other methods of verification wrong. (be careful Date of Birth is a perfect ID check) and you would be asked to show proofs of ID to an Orange Retail store. This method is used a hell of a lot when CSR's dont believe the person they are speaking too is the account holder.
Another thing maybe who actually lied on your application? was it you or were you advised to put a different Date of Birth on your application? phones 4U are notorious for this ATM.
And as mentioned, pay your bills ontime, dont give customers services grief and dont give them any reason to check into the account further.
You'll be fine, just relax.
