I tried to do that on my sky+ box with no joy, when I tried to change the frequency i got a message saying the frequency has to be between 10.700 and 12.750, the polarity will only change between v and h.

I tried the following settings without any joy:

    Frequency - 12.441
    Polarisation - V
    Symbol Rate - 27.5
    FEC - 2/3

It's not the qualifying that's the problem but the practice sessions, they are only shown on BBCi.

    Thanks

Post #4 indicates it is not possible to record the Programme on Sky+ even in 'real time' i.e. with the programme on live.

However I would be able record to a VCR, except the Red Button it is not always active i.e. pressing it now will not give me any choice of programmes to display.

Thanks for the AVforum link - it appears we are stumped.

Definitely for Sky+, its a shame the HD boxes were not upgraded to do this.
During the Olympics it was impossible to leave a particular screen on and be 100% sure you were recording what you wanted. The same with Wimbledon.
If you buy a cheap Freeview box http://www.tvonics.com/digital-set-top-boxes/mdr-250.html today ( TVONICS is the size of a paperback book) and set your video to record it on channel 302 of the box from 2.55am-405am its there in the planner clearly on my freeview box guide.
I know Comet sell them http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/520764/TVONICS%20MDR-250?cm_ven=Google+Shopping&cm_cat=Feed&cm_pla=Digital%20and%20freesat%20Set%20Top%20Boxes&cm_ite=520764_TVONICS_MDR-250.
Or you could ask a neighbor to record it if they have a pvr freeview box or a dvd freeview box or the above set up with a video recorder.

The Kuala Lumpar- Malasia sessions next Friday morning are listed clearly in the guide on 302. 3.00am-4.15am.

But they do differ slightly to those printed here,

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7755219.stm

so you may want to add a bit of extra time to the end of the recording.

It seems it's worth investing in a decent free-view box for your aerial for the bbc interactive as sky don't give a record planner guide facility for it.

There is a 1hour 40min report of the practice on the BBC website.

If that is standard practice then it will be OK
