I've just come across this thread and it's got me thinking about how Paypal have ripped me off.
About this time last year, I sold a mobile phone on Ebay, and the winning bidder sent me the money (approx £120) via Paypal. Everything was fine, I posted the phone via special delivery so that i had a tracking number, and the winning bidder asked me for the tracking number. I emailed the tracking number (and still have the email to prove it). I tracked the parcel via the royal mail website, and it also showed me the signature of who it had been signed by.
Anyway, a few weeks later, I got an email from Paypal saying that there was a dispute and apparently a fraudulent transaction had been carried out. They asked me to give details of the transaction, and proof of delivery etc.... At this point they had taken the money from my paypal account, so I was therefore in minus figures. They kept demanding that I repay the money to them, and put my account back to zero. I provided all information to prove that I hadn't done anything wrong, and the case went on for a few months. Eventually, it was decided that the other side won, so I lost both the mobile, and the £120. I had given up on fighting it and just paid off the money to paypal.
Is there anything that I could do?
Thanks
I keep getting an email off them every month or so and I've had to start ignoring them as each time I've emailed them to say I'd not had the phone back it was convieniently ignored. why should i chase them when it's them that want the money from me.0
