FAMILY FUND for second child on DLA?

Hi I have 2 children with disabilities. My eldest has been on DLA a few years and last year I was advised to go to the Family Fund for help with holidays etc. which I did and after a few months was given a grant for a holiday and money towards a new fridge freezer.
My youngest son has just been awarded the same rates of DLA and I just wondered if I should put in an application for him a grant aswel or wouldn't they do this?
I just wanted to know because although the £450 holiday grant was fantastic, it didn't really get us much and we had to get a loan to pay for the rest of the holiday, which I am still paying off.
Would the Family Fund possibly give a different grant for each child? If so could we combine holiday vouchers and get a nice holiday without having to put much towards?

The Family Fund will look at the whole circumstances of your family when you apply, so it's not like one grant per child. The amount they give will depend on how much they have available as well as your needs. Note that you can't apply again until 12 months after your last grant unless it's an emergency.

Yes your totally right it is twice the work looking after 2 disabled children ap[posed to 1.
Thanky for your help I guess we'll have to make do and give the holiday a miss this year as I can't get another loan.

When it comes to the family fund I personally feel it is right that they will only give the one grant-as its for the whole family and the whole family benefited from the grant. Charities want to help as many families as possible,and with the unfortunate fact that there is often more than one disabled individual in a family it would restrict how many families they could help.With carers allowance I agree that you should get extra in your situation.
