doh!
Is there a system restore point you could go back to? What operating system does it run?
Can you do a scan disk in safe mode?
When it freezes in normal mode how far does it get before freezing? Can you see the desktop? Or does it freeze with the Windows logo?0 -
its on windows xp i can get as far as windows showing up then it decideds to do no more0

yes mate there is a restore point but can only do it in safe mode0

Try pressing f8 during boot to get the mode select screen again, the one that shows safe mode and select use last known good configuration (or something like that).0

Why not do a system restore in Safe Mode?Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0

Try the system restore first if you want. I think its basically the same but I have never tried a rollback from safe mode. In fact Ive never done a system restore I always use the last good Config0

this is what i need to know can i do it in safe mode0

Yes, try restore to a earlier time using safe mode. Then reboot into normal mode.
If its freezing before it even gets past the XP screen it is more likely a driver crashing your system.
Also, just for a laugh try this
In safe mode type msconfig into the run prompt. CLick the startup tab and de-select everything. Try reboot into safe mode (these startup items can always be re-enabled afterwards)
msconfig is very good for troublesome boots.0 -
