Was up at 5.30 this morning for some inexplicable reason and ended up watching some of the latest episodes of the US Office
Now in my own office and stillannoyed about a comment someone made to me yesterday. My new boss asked if I was still thinking about moving and when I said no, I got, "It would be good to put your foot on the property ladder". Does he think I'm 12 or something, when I've owned my own place since I started working in 1998! Of course, us women only work for pin money, don't we? Patronising old git. It was then followed up with, "It must be difficult for people like you who can't get a mortgage". (Despite the fact that my mortgage and everything was in place and that was nothing to do with the reason I decided not to move). What does he mean with 'people like you'? Qualified 32 year old professionals who would be looking for a 40% LTV for a 4 bed detached house. What really peeves me off is he's my new line manager - been here for 4 weeks and he's already peeving me off  The natural assumption is 'young, single' must be living with parents or something while I've supported myself with sod all help from anyone for 11 years, but that shouldn't let someone assume that I'm just here for pocket money. Got home last night and ended up lobbing a dinner plate off the floor I was so blinking angry with his wee comments. I absolutely hate people being patronising towards me more than anything else in the world.
Rant over!
On the money saving front, I switched mobile phone plan yesterday and will save £112 a year with that, and also checked Quidco and have £48 coming to me in MayAlmost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
Well, I am off to work with a packed lunch I made last nite from leftovers! :T
I've contacted my local councillors AGAIN.. re: CTax and bailiffs.
I phoned the council and was told AGAIN to contact the bailiffs... I will contact the council AGAIN tomorrow to ask the same question... (Working on the premise that they will get totally fed up with me and take the debt back)!! :rotfl:
Now off to work I go, - walking coz it's cheaper and healthier than sitting on a bus....
Have a good day e1! :j0 -

Hi Everyone,
Dreary day here and I need to make some confessions:
I bought a take-away just for myself that cost £13.49 and, even worse, I bought cigarettes to keep me going through my assignment!
I think I am going to justify it by saying that something has to give when another priority takes over! Excuses, excuses I know!
Here's my list for today:
- 500 words on assignment
- check bank accounts - something weird is going on!
- transfer money from one account to another
- print off bank statements
- print of energy bills
- iron 10 things
- put a load on the w/m
- dust in living room - maybe hoover
- eat leftover takeaway for dinner!0 -
Aaaaaah Urg....you are absolutely right, something does have to give sometimes - there just aren't enough hours in the day to do absolutely everyhitng. You are so busy with your assignments that it's perfectly fine to have a takeaway now and then:D Just enjoy the leftovers.....I really need to sort out a new signature!0

Thanks Milly - its nice to have someone understand but I felt soooo guilty!
I suppose I can take it as a good sign - that I am thinking alot more about how I spend (waste!) my money.
