  • From that log, you've got Google Toolbar, MSN Toolbar, Windows Live Toolbar and Yahoo Toolbar running. Try Internet Explorer with No Add On's (Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add Ons) and see if you still experience crashes..

    Ayeshasi, can you go to the start menu on your computer (the one thats not working), go to run > type in "cmd" (without quotes, you should have a black window come up) then type in "ping www.google.co.uk" (again, without quotes)

    you should see whats below, the bit in red should be the same as what i've put below (0% loss means you have an internet connection as all the packets were mirrored back)

    *****

    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Username>ping google.com

    Pinging google.com [74.125.67.100] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 74.125.67.100: bytes=32 time=133ms TTL=243
    Reply from 74.125.67.100: bytes=32 time=133ms TTL=243

    Reply from 74.125.67.100: bytes=32 time=133ms TTL=243

    Ping statistics for 74.125.67.100:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 132ms, Maximum = 133ms, Average = 132ms

    This will help because we can see if it's just IE8 thats crashing or both IE8 is crashing and you have no network connectivity (seeing Malwarebytes didnt update either)

    Yup, the red bit is exactly the same...

    Btw, just scanning once again with the latest version of malware...

    Also, try resetting IE8 back to default settings (it's for Vista but the same principal should apply)
