Thanks for the info, OP.
Just placed an order for 10 strawberry plants for £3.49. My mum is a keen gardener so hopefully we'll be harvesting juicy strawberrys this summer. :T0 -
Really you don't want to let them fruit in the first year and any flowers that do form you should pull off, this allows the plant to develop a strong root system which will make crops in the future years bigger.
Thats if you can resist them in the first year lol0 -
You can actually get a lot of stuff for free if you do it right but not 1 to take the michael I just ordered the plants at £0.00 cost.0

10% code doesn't seem to be working any more. I was going to go for another load of freebies but can no longer use the loop hole.0

An old lady drops a £10 note in front of you ...you pick it up and keep it because you can...
I really wonder about the mentality of some people who seem to think that it's clever to act like this. This type of behaviour is going to cause Mr Fothergills extra work to cancel the orders of those who are "trying it on" and then send out email explaining the situation (plus replying to those that think that they are being treated unfairly). They are hardly going to be keen to run such promotions again. Who loses? The consumer.
You might as well say the same about lots of loop holes on here. Eg The ING direct account that Martin Lewis promoted a couple of weeks back. Put in a quid, get £20, close the account. I see no difference between the two - ING direct might stop doing promotions because of people taking advantage of them. Yet that doesn't stop them appearing on the front page and weekly email of MSE. If you don't want to exploit loop holes, then don't. But others will.0 -

This is nothing like "old lady dropping money"i for one would give the old lady the money back, but have also ordered these for 6p...........you need to get a grip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Im known as the 'Fixer' if you have a problem, come to me and i can fix it for you.0 -

There is a difference between a loophole and a technical glitch in a system.
ING have a marketing budget to allow them to do this type of promotion. As do all bookmakers abused in the GIOL. As long as they're making more than they are losing then they probably won't be complaining.
As for you questioning me not wanting to exploit loop holes - I've exploited more than most. But then this isn't a loophole - it's the abuse of a techincal glitch on what is already a very good offer. No pleasing some is there!
I bet that those who are happy to pay £3.49 are the ones who grow their own fruit and veg and those that want them for free wouldn't have a clue what to do if they arrived! :rotfl:0 -

What's the 6p got to do with it?You've clearly missed the point I was making anyway. It wasn't anything to do with money - it was to do with the "doing things because you can" comment.
If you want pick up on the money aspect of my comment then fine. 2 things;
1. you'd admit keep 6p if the old lady dropped it? :rotfl:!!
2. They've probably got a retail value of about £10 so you'd be getting £10 worth for virtually nothing. On that basis I think you would keep the £10!:rotfl:
Anyway, the offer has been pulled now so genuine GW readers won't be able to get something that they should have been entitled to. Lots of unhappy readers will now be contacting GW to complain that the code doesn't work. I guess it keeps the GW staff in a job though. :rotfl:0 -
Actually, it's a few runners.
And I'll chill out if you grow up and stop wasting the time of the staff at Fothergill's. I'm not exactly sure who you are trying to impress with your 6p strawberries!! :rotfl:
:T a few runners lmao, that makes your complaining much less pointless. ... Spend and let spend ...0
