Hi there,
looking for some advice on this issue as it's starting to get to my nerves!
Myself and another 2 friends used to share a house last year. We had to move out due to security issues not being dealt with by the landlord. He kept our deposits and refused to answer our letters.
We contacted a solicitor who after a few months told us our deposits were being protected by mydeposits.co.uk, apparently an alternative resolution dispute whatever...basically they deal with our deposit/claim and if there's no agreement we can go to court. One of the tenants wrote to them, sent them the evidence requested and received a letter saying they're dealing with it. I did the same, not without being sent the incorrect claims form twice, and then being sent emails with no form on it claiming that there was one...very unprofessional. Eventually I sent them the evidence requested within their timeframe. They claim they acknowledge receipt of all evidence sent electronically and so they did with the other housemate's claim.
I did send all this on 5th March. I have not heard from them since. They also sent me -same date- a pdf copy of my deposit certificate, with the incorrect amount on it!! I immediately asked them to look into this and they have ignored my request. I have written to them at least 3 times with no reply. Their phone line is constantly engaged and the one time I got through they hung up the phone!
Can I report these people somewhere and take the matter straight to court with the landlord? Many many thanks!

read their terms and conditions - once you have agreed to use their Dispure REsolution Service, then you cannot take the matter to court.
why not write a letter of complaint to their Chief Exec ?0
