I am as a labour party supporter, or sorry was a labour party supporter now so disillusioned mainly because of the claims for 2nd homes and that applies to all party's. Although maybe within the rules certainly not within morality, and I am in despair, so I will be doing something that has disgusted me, I will no longer vote.

Will you be writing to your Labour candidate to tell them this?

Do you suppose s/he would listen?

The prime characteristic of all politicians is that they tell us.

Very few of them seem to have a listen facility.

I don't know. I don't see that it could hurt and I think it would be more powerful than simply not voting. I think its interesting that people would identify a party with their own polica beliefs, fall 'out of agreement' with the party but not the belief, and not protest at that. Its different to a floating or disinterested voter not voting.

David Miliband is the best option. He has the intellectual rigour required and a certain amount of likeability. No idea what the Labour Party Kremlinology is about him.

David Miliband is more NuLabour contempt and arrogance. Yup vote him in and Labour will be in the wilderness for a good long time. Hell I might even join Labour to vote him in.

The Milibands' father was very traditionally left and they were, as I understand it, brought up with a strong Marxist ideal. Its intersting that this should be 'rejected' so. But, by no means unusal.

Interesting. I like his brother Ed - genuinely decent bloke it seems, but David is a plonker.
