don't know about t-mobile in particular, it varies more with what model of phone you have. You'd need to go into your phone settings somewhere and set it to "withold my number" or something similar. I find just putting 141 in front of the number you want to dial works .:D

    hi

i think you should be able to go into the settings menu on your phone and go to call settings. there should be an option to show/hide number or something like 'own number sending' option and you will be able to select the option to withhold your number from there.

I have always had mine withheld by my network o2. Some phone allow you to alter your own settings my last two have.

Settings ~ Calls ~ show or hide number.

Why would you want to withhold your number?

Personally I do not answer withheld numbers, land line or mobiles.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

my husband does a lot of charity work (home visits etc)and he ends up with some of the people phoning him back after doing visits

It does not work for CPW O2.

If you try it, a message will come back saying "UNKNOWN APPLICATION".

Not even CPW O2's Technical Support are able to set the network default to withhold your CLI. They concede that on O2 proper it's possible (and, indeed I have it) but they say it can't be done on CPW O2.

If you configure the 'phone itself to withhold your number, you can't override that on individual calls by entering the prefix 1470 before dialling the desired number (as you can if you have had your network set it by default). So, the only way then to get through to a number that rejects incoming calls that do not identify themselves is to go back into the configuration of the 'phone and change the setting back: which is a pain.

The only practical way to withhold your CLI on CPW O2 is thus to prefix the number you're calling with 141.

Which is also a pain if you swap SIMs between 'phones because you have to store both versions of some numbers in your Contacts list on all your 'phones. :(

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.
