How can I activate o2 PAYG sim without topping up
I have a new o2 sim. I would like to give it to someone so I can ring them temporarily using my free o2-o2 bolt on... but topping up would be a waste of money as I have a contract.
I have tried:
1. texting Balance to 20202- it says message failed to send
2. registering by text our name and home details but this did not send either.
Anyone have any other ideas?

ring customer services and ask nicely if they'll add 1p to the account to activate it, they did this for nephew's sim0
