finger foods for 10 month old

2

Comments

  • Wholemeal toast with thinly spread marmite, advocado and banana slices, slices of fruits like pears. Organix do a good range of organic, free from rubbish finger foods like breadsticks and biscuits. Also veggie fingers like cucumber with an advocado dip, small cherry tomatoes, pasta shapes with cheese on, diced cheese (avoid pastes and spreads if possible because many are higher in additives and salts than recommended). Avoid processed foods like cheesy strings etc of you can. Eggs are not really recommended under 12 months incase of allergies.

I have all this to come again soon!!

I have been trying the home made chips, a lot healther than the rest, he likes them.

I think it will all be easier when he can dip properly, then he can have hummous and things like that.

He loves fruit so his puddings are always easy, just thinking of varied mains

Just realised thriftlady had beaten me to it on the avocado front!

Another 'eggy' idea, I used to cut a well cooked omlette up - and you can put cheese in it too! We never had a problem with egg, but maight be best to run it past your HV!

What about things on toast? Cheese, sardines, sliced tomatoes etc?
Re eggs, my health visitor has said safe from 7 months for my son. Apparently if he has an allergy at that age then he'll have it whatever age they're introduced.

The good thing about this age is it does make you think about what you are serving up a bit more! Its nice to be able to do it, at 18 months my little girl eats anything, whereas my 4 year old boy is a fussy so and so, just no interest in food at all!

    Eggy bread.

Beat an egg with a little milk, and pour onto a plate, put a piece of bread onto the plate and let it soak up the egg (turn it to cover both sides) Then fry until golden brown, delicious!!!!! I would put salt and pepper in mine (or even tabasco or worcester sauce) but wouldnt for a baby!!!!
