Hi,
My buba is going through a phase where he now hates to be spoon fed and jams his mouth shut. I have had to start giving him foods he can pick up and eat himself but I am fast running out of ideas.
So far I have been giving him whole soft baby carrot (which he loves) potoato waffles, fish fingers, toast, crumpets and rusks.
Obviously he can't live on this forever, I have been giving him the most healthy options of the foods available and only give grilled or oven cooked foods.
Any ideas you can think of, he can't spoon feed himself yet.
Thanks xx

Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching
Save the cheerleader, save the world!

Mine liked banana slices, avocado slices(these were a bit tricky to hold),apple slices, carrot sticks for teething rather than eating, cooked chicken, cheese(sorry can't remember if 10 months is old enough for dairy),breadsticks, pasta shapes, broccoli florets and mashed veg like swede - messy but,hey it's all messy!0

I wouldn't give eggs yet, eggs are a common allergen as I found out when I gave my dd scrambled egg at 11 months. Her face swelled, lips got huge, eyes closed up,hives and vomiting  .I'd wait at least another 2 months before trying egg.0

To help mine learn to feed themselves, i used to get them those tiny yoghurts (like petit filo, munch bunch etc) the pots are small enough to pick up, the yoghurt is firm enough not to spill out (well, not very quickly!!!) and the little ones tend to love the yoghurt!!!!0

As well as above, mine liked sandwiches made with two slices of thinly sliced bread, with meat paste or cheese spread in.Here I go again on my own....0

My little girl woudn't accept a spoon at all till she was over a year, she just wanted to feed herself from day one.
An easy one this, a nice ripe avocado cut into manageable pieces! Also, your own oven chips, either with potato, sweet potato or parsnip - or all three! You only need the smallest amount of oil, as much to stop them sticking as anything else (I used to use frylite which is a sprayable oil) - and they are a great hit!0
