    Hi MIVAA

The 'fees' incurred by Insolvency Practitioners for the management of an IA can be in excess of £6 - £8,000 and is usually deducted from payments made by the debtor before any money is distributed between creditors. Small wonder, then, that the 'Industry' attracts a very high proportion of players whose integrity is open to question.

All Insolvency Practices charge fees - even the CCCS, and therefore they are no different to the the others.

If you still have an issue with the quality of my advice after that, then let me know.

First of all I apologise for having pressed the 'thanks button' by mistake.

That is the only apology I will make.

My 'issue' was, and still is, that you gave a misleading account of the implications of bankruptcy.

I did read the thread and I would agree that the OP has been given misleading information, although NOT, I hasten to add, by either RAS or myself.

The only piece of advice in my post was that the OP seek independent advice before committing herself to further action - whether that 'action' be allowing the IVA to fail, or agreeing to any changes within her IVA.

Since the 'company' that is managing (for want of a better word) - Debt Free Direct - is well known on this board as probably one of the worst examples of the type of 'company' that I described in my previous post, I stand by my advice and reccomend that the OP does absolutely nothing until she has spoken with CAB on Thursday.

Unless you, yourself, are an associate of one of the aforementioned 'IVA' factories, I fail to see why you should take issue with advice that is fully endorsed by this forum, indeed fundamental to any debtor who is looking for advice in the minefield of 'debt' counselling.

Woolysheep - I repeat my original advice. Please do not agree to anything, with anyone, until you have discussed your situation with CAB.

The fact that all Insolvency Practises charge fees does NOT mean that all Insolvency Practices give the same standard of service.

    Thanks Fermi,

    I appreciate the comment.

Just to confirm, I do not offer my advice for personal gain. I just offer my experience to help people looking for answers to their questions related to IVA's they are already in.

Who's advertising? The only one making reference to my profile is you lot not me.

And Rog, I whole heartedly agree that there is a wide range in the quality of service and advice given by different IPs, and that DFD are amongst the worst for passing out dross as advice. However, this is an open forum. and as such any advice should be open to scrutiny for all to see. If you don't agree with what I advise then say so, that's your privilege. But at least offer some sort of relevant advice in it's place.

The reason I pointed out bankruptcy as I did was to highlight to Woolly there would be a real chance that her husband would find out about her debts, which she stated in the thread could destroy their relationship. Is that something that should be over looked. I don't think so.

And also to point out that even if she allowed her IVA to fail, she would still potentially face 3 more years of having to make some sort of payments to the OR.

And what exactly do you think the CAB will do to help Woolly by the way?

An awful lot more than a member of a private 'IVA Factory' can.

  • MIVAA, my post was simply to point out if you are an employee, or owner of that company, you firstly need the permision of the site owner to have that link in your profile, and it is wise to declare the connection in your signeture after getting the site owners permision, to avoid Misunderstandings.

I have had a quick look at your posts and found no sign of abuse, which is why i did not just report it, but i have no idea what you may send by PM
