We went last August. It was very busy and beaches were crowded. Eating out was very reasonable, £2 for a bottle of good wine and £3 for a main course in a good restraund. You could eat for much less.
Lots of fake goods that I would advice to stear clear of but beer (60p a bottle) thats for bulgarian made and wine is very cheep also cigs were just 40p per packet.
Hope u enjoy your holiday !!!MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0 -
Went to Sunny Beach in 2004.
We stayed at the Rotunda Hotel. It was an obsolute sh** hole, so if your booked in there I would advise you to stay at home.
Putting the hotel to one side, I loved the place. As long as you are not expecting Monte Carlo i'm sure youl love it.
Some of the goods are fake, but I know my designer gear and I could not tell the difference. I bought 2 pairs of Deisel jeans and a pair of nike air shocks for around £40! Im still wearing the jeans.
As mentioned earlier the food and bevy is mighty cheap, I found myself leaving tips which were more than a 3 course meal for 2 people.
The beach was fine when we were there, to be honest I didnt notice any over crowding.
One other point is that the airport was a nightmare, overcrowded and unorganised. Nothing worse when you want to get home.
Anyway, as long as your not staying in the Rotunda I think youl enjoy it. Let me know the name of the hotel and ill try and see if I remember it.0 -
Oh ye, forgot to mention that there standard of living is nothing like ours ....... there about 30 years behind us. Your right about the airport too .............. Its very small, hot and smelly .... LOL, thats putting it mildly. Its amazing because from the outside it looks so much nicer. Sunny Beach is nothing spectacular and in some parts its very rough around the edges but all in all I bet u will enjoy yourself ...... the ppl there will love u and your money too :-)MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0

Is anyone else bothered about people asking questions on here and then appearing not to give thanks, as the OP in this thread0

my old man went
said to many working girls there mostly all very young kids etc
said the beer was cheap but was poor he was sure they brewed it in back yards out there......
said the food was poor and got the runs etc
said sunny beach was run by mafia people
the fakes were poor quality more so than in turkeyTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.:D0 -
I went years ago (15) it was very basic but great I loved it and my sister in law has just returned and liked it a lot too. (Much nicer than Turkey)0

I went a few years ago and I would advise take PLENTY of mozzie spray as they`re very rife.0

Apparently the resort was built on swampland and you WILL get bitten0
