Internet access in France

Hi, newbie here
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on internet access abroad. I was planning on driving round France for a month in summer, but I need internet access on my own laptop, rather than in an internet cafe, as I work from home on the internet. Does anybody know any French dongles or anything I could use over there, which won't be extortionately priced?
Alternatively, if there's any other way I can access the net cheaply, please advise!
Thanks!

I think you have already ID'd the best method, which is to buy a dongle when you get there that works on the local network. It might be possible to buy an unlocked dongle here and then use a French PAYG SIM card in it once you arrive.
However I don't know how widespread the 3G network is yet in France, especially in the rural areas. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks, I was hoping it might be abit easier than that but never mind. I'm really new to this whole world of mobile broadband. How much would an unlocked dongle cost, out of interest?0

I don't know, because it is quite a new thing, Suggest you try your local independent phone shop (don't ask a network shop obviously). There's a piece about it on this link that indicates it's around £40.
