I've been on a vodafone contract for the last 3 months, on an 18 months contract... This month's bill was really high, I e-mailed vodafone and asked for them to change my direct debt billing date, they said sure they just needed more information, I sent them it.
They asked for MORE information, I sent it. No reply.
I replied again, and they appologised but they cant change the billing date for this month.
(Direct debt date 3rd March, Payday 10th) The last thing I need is to be overdrawn again. The only thing I can think of is to change my price plan..
I assume its not possible to cancel my account with it being the third month of an 18 month contract... im right, right?
any more ideas?
thanks

Who did you get the contract/phone through?
This will determine if you are with Vodafone Direct or a managed service, such as through Carphone warehouse, where they provide the service and all billing/customer service.
Not sure about Voda direct or anyone else, but if its Carphone warehouse (includes OneStopPhoneShop), then they only have a certain number of 'billing cycles' that you can change to, which determines your DD date.
Not sure how you can avoid going overdrawn again, one option would be to make a credit card payment for the balance. However, it depends when the DD request is sent to your bank. If you make payment before this is done, then I believe that the DD request will not be passed to the bank. However, after the request is sent to the bank you don't have much to play with.
Although its worth checking about the billing cycles to stop this happening in future.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -

Be careful though, if you do that then make sure you cancel the DD with Vodafone customer services. Otherwise they will still attempt to take the DD and will more than likely charge you an admin fee of £25-30.
Still worth a try to change the date of your DD, Voda direct will probably be more flexible.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
surely thought because its a contract, i'll be fined or something?0

Don't think you can change the DD date with voda direct cause there is only 1 billing date - the 1st of every month. Only real option is to move it to bill payment as far as I'm aware. If you're bills are coming in really high you're probably going over your minutes and/or text allowance and going up a tariff should bring your bills down. Can't recommend much without knowing how you use your phone though.0
