Milky boobies

Ok so, i have a DS of 2 1/2, i breast fed for about 4 weeks or so but he went on to formula after that as i wasn't producing very much milk. So back to the question in hand
i was sitting in the bath the other night when i spotted something white on one of my nips, thinking it was some sort of spot or something i tried to squeeze it, only for milk to come out of my boob . I showed my OH for him to say ' i told you that you were pregnant' (which he did 2 weeks ago) so we did 2 test, one of those clear blue ones that was £8 incidentaly  anyway is was negative, so my question really is can a women lactate when she is not pregnant or is my body just having a phantom pregnancy? Thanks for reading.

It can take a long time for your body to stop making milk after you've stopped feeding a child... But not normally this long for a relatively short period of breastfeeding... It could be a sign of something else so if I were you I would go and get checked out by the Dr...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

There are a few medical reasons (apart from being pg)
I had my son breast fed for 6 weeks and the for the next 11 years leaked in one boob, that's how long it took me to convince a doctor that this wasn't right.
Any way.... please go see the gp and get it check out by the boobie doctor,
Let them tell you what it is, we all like to be armchair critics here but when it's medical, go see a professional.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
Agree with Paparika, you definately need to tell GP.

I leak milk still and my youngest is 3. I've never even breastfed!
I've had several tests at the docs but theres no explaination for it! My doc was convinced it was my thyroid playing up but thats fine.

Definitely go see GP.
And next time try Wilkinsons for pregnancy test. They do single strips (dip in cup of wee) no fancy stuff for about £1-£2. We are money savers after all !!!0
