Broadband using my own e mail address

I have a BT contracted line and am currently using OneTel broadband. I would like to find an alternative broadband supplier (1 to 2 mb speed )who allows me to use my own e mail address rather than theirs (or pay BT £5 per month for the priviledge).

Companies like Madasafish tell me that I must use their url madasafish.com.

Does anyone have experience of a reliable company offering this facility at a sensible price.

Are you talking about registering your own domain name (internet address)?

    Look at https://www.oneandone.co.uk

You could always use something like Yahoo or Googlemail; that way you won't have to worry about changing email address if you change broadband supplier.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.
  • I may be wrong, but may I please correct you on the Madasafish quote:

"Companies like Madasafish tell me that I must use their url madasafish.com."

Madasafish give you your own .co.uk domain name so you don't have to have use an e-mail address ending in madasafish.com.

When I signed up I got a free domain name and I've been using their mail server without once having to use the address that ends in madasafish.com.

From their website it looks like they are still giving away free domain names as part of their package.
  • I recommend gmail as per wigginsmum.
If you have a BT internet email address, then you can change your BT account to PAYG and keep it. You should then be able to set up your email app so send and receive the email correctly when connected via madasafish.
    To infinity and beyond!
