PC Running Too Slow.

When I try to load up my Firefox browser it usually takes between 4-5 minutes and my overall PC as a whole is running slowly, I have ran SS&D to no avail, does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem.... but when booting up my hard drive would chunter away for ages. In the end I bought an additional 360GB hard drive for less than £40 and reinstalled everything I wanted on it. It was much quicker and easier than trying to work out what was wrong... and I had an extra hard drive for more storage at the end too.

I now have a virus (posted on this forum) and would seriously consider reinstalling everything again... if it were not for the fact I have no room for another hard drive. Even so I may do it. It felt good to know I had a clean machine - and it flies now too compared to before.

Which operating system are you using and how much RAM is installed?
What size hard drive and how much free space is left?

Id switch spybots TEA TIMER off for starters as it can create all sorts of problems

Then id recommend uninstalling Zonealarm and see how it is then (Switch on windows firewall in its place)
Some zonelarm updates have caused a few problems lately

You need SERVICE PACK 3 too. And AVG 7.5 is being stopped from being updated soon

    Thanks for that.

When I attempt to unistall ZoneAlarm the following message appears, I don't know what it means and there were no other programs running at the time the message displayed.

True vector internet monitor was not uninstalled.

The uninstaller was not able to stop the true vector software services. This will happen if other software is using the true vector engine.

To uninstall ZoneAlarm make sure all other true vector based programs have been uninstalled.

Nothing with that name or anything like it appeared within the task manager, is there anything else I can try?
