Stock markets Up Up Up. Why?

Can someone explain why the DOW and FTSE are going up? I have read that it’s because of huge amounts of toxic debt being removed and the QE. Can someone explain why these things are good and people see fit to invest in stocks? Surely it’s like burying nuclear waste, it gets rid of it, but it will ultimately contaminate the soil and nothing will be able to grow and QE will lead to inflation. Is it investors trying to make a quick buck?

It's because Obama made an announcement. If he breaks wind it'll be another hundred points higher.0

It's because of a rise in US house sales. Another sign of things starting to slowly recover.
