If that was the case, I assume all monies raised goes to charity, surely it would mentioned this. If it isnt why isnt it sold at cost?

Ronan really and truly cared for his mother, who now sadly cannot be with him. He has campaigned long and hard to raise awareness of cancer and has also fundraised endlessly. To imply that he used his mothers name in order to simply gain extra revenue and sales is shocking. I firmly believe that when he says they are songs for his mother, that they are true dedications to her and nothing else. If the songs are good or bad is irrelevant, they are still dedications to her

Some of the proceeds of the album most definately ARE going to charity, The Marie Keating Foundation I believe.

Proceeds from the album, which is released today, will be split between the Marie Keating Foundation – a charity set up by Ronan’s family which funds two mobile cancer awareness units in Ireland – and Cancer Research UK.

IMO all of the above sentiment doesn't excuse the fact that the CD is woeful.

When we buy Comic Relief or Children In Need or indeed any 'charidee' CDs, we know they'll be cr4p......

AFAIK they are NOT marketing this CD as 'Ronan lashes out a few songs a la Karaoke style, but it's all for a good cause so it doesn't matter', but are instead going with it as a 'proper' CD.

If it's a lash up for charity then that's fine [it even makes me feel better since we bought it for mum for mothers day]...they should just say that it's a 'charity-jobbie' and don't pretend it's any good.
  • You sound a very bitter man BFG. You shouldn't really be trying to press your own musical opinions/preferences on others. It's up to them to find out how crap it is and not for you to tell them.

Give the £6.99 to charity, gouge your eyes out with a spoon, standing next to a pnuematic road hammer while your friend beats you over the head with a monster pike ..... and you will still feel better than listening to his awful racket.

However, his forthcoming "Fingers down the blackboard and squealing cats for my Father" promises to be his best work yet
  • No idea what the album sounds like as haven't bought and won't be but, bloody hell, saw him climbing [STRIKE]Snowdon[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Kilima[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Mount Killimann[/STRIKE] that big hill in Tanzania and the bloke looks seriously unwell. Like a skeleton. Is he ill?
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

iT'S £6.99 HERE http://www.bangcd.com/productDetail.aspx?prod_id=9364 Incase anyones still interested in a lower price.
  • If you really are anti-Keating why not buy the Pet Shop Boys album instead (it's very Girls Alound and very classic Pet Shop Boys and very Kreftwerk all at once, rather than just rehashed tripe) and give some money directly one of the charities.
