scottish secure tennancy - right to buy

I am thinking of moving back to my mums - she is disabled and needs a carer - my mum still has the old right to buy and would receive the max 60% discount. I believe after ive stayed their 6 months i would be able to apply jointly with my mum - however i see if the landlord arees the 6 month requirement need not apply - I know its a longshot but does anyone know under what situations would this apply to. I am giving up my current home to be carer for my mum - my mum is disabled -


Can other members of the family join in the purchase?
Yes. If they are 18 or over and have lived with you (but not contrary to the terms of your tenancy agreement) for at least 6 months before your application to buy is served. If your landlord agrees however, then the 6 months requirement need not apply. Sharing the cost of buying with your family under the right to buy means, for example, that if your grown-up children live with you, you could buy your home jointly with them and their income could be counted towards the money you borrow.

    Thanks - will have a look further at this. My mum still has the old style right to buy -not one of these new types. Application form and booklet sent to us says she would get max 60%. Moving back to my mums as my family come first in my life. Will not be a great situation for us as i have a 10 year old daughter - and my mum has 2 bedroomed house. ******* of a husband walked out on us and has bought lovely £250k house with another female - so daughter and I stuck in family home at the moment which was worth 200k until ****** husband removed without my knowledge funds from it to pay for deposit on the `new home` now im looking at a half share of about 150k - which i suppose is not to be sneezed at - but wont buy us another home. So trying to kill 2 birds with the one stone here - caring for my mum (which ive done for years) my husband thinks i should be passing the care over to the authorities now (ie putting her in a home so i can return to full time work) and finding a home for my daughter - if i can do this and keep most of the money from sale of current home in the bank - then i feel life will be better for us. Just posted this to see if anyone had any knowledge of in what situation could the 6 months be waived - long shot i know - all doom and gloom these days - but thats life - but my mum and daughter come first - :o
