SKY HD SD picture gone cr*p

Anyone encountered this recently?

i havent noticed a drop in quality in the past week. oddly sd picture looks worse through hdmi cable compared to a scart cable. this is odd because hdmi cables are supposed to be better whether watching sd or hd. we have had sky hd for a month and i think it is a con. it is rare that a hd picture looks as good as they say it should. also alot of the stuff on hd channels isnt even in hd. channel4 hd and sci fi hd are particularly bad for this.
i feel regarding the picture quality i think that maybe a better hdmi cable would sort it out. the sky cable does look cheap and nasty.

Sky SD looks cr*p through HDMI because its FORCED to either deinterlace, upscale or both. And for that reason if watching through a HDMI then the best setting is to force it to upscale to 1080i as its upscaling software isnt as bad as its deinterlacing software
ALL other connections WILL allow 576i though (meaning the tv upscales and deinterlaces)

when either our xbox 360 or upscaling dvd player has been set to sd the picture hasnt got worse than before when they have been connected by other means.

The xbox and your dvd player have been designed correctly (Unlike your cr*ppy sky box)
