As part of my money saving drive, im changing my mobile phone provider from Orange to T-mobile (orange were not able to match the deal, so i have my pac code, and 30 days to find a new provider!!!) Ive picked the package i want, i just need to decide which mobile i would like. I dont need to download anything, and the internet (WAP) options are also irrelevant, the main thing is the phone is reliable (i do like to take photos with it as well!!!) http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/Dispatcher?pf=Call+off-peak&nmid=pas_pp_plan_dfo_details&nmid2=ctl_pas_df_pp_details&menuid=ctl_pas_pp_change_plan&dpid=5016&extras=false these are the ones i have to choose from, can anybody recomend a good one from this for me????

I've got the Nokia 6230i - solid, reliable, 1.3 mp camera, MP3 player, radio, etc., etc. I love mine - I've also dropped it once, on concrete, and it survived beautifully! ;)
I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.

If the camera is the most important thing - The Sony Ericsson w800i/d750i, the Nokia N70 or the Samsung D600 would be the best options.

I have an N70 and it's fab! (if a little slow!)

Thank you for your advice, not wanting one of the 'pay' phones, would rather have a free one, so might go for the nokia, unless anyone else can recomend a different one!!!! I have a few days to think about it!!!!
  • I used to work at Carphone warehouse. Motorola handsets are notoriously un- user friendly, especially if you are used to using Nokia/Sony Ericsson handsets.

The menus are rather dated, and the soft keys always seem to be back to front, so you often find yourself selecting cancel/exit rather than select! You get used to it over time, it depends how quickly you can adapt!

Just my experience, I'm sure others will disagree!

From the free phones, I would agree on the Nokia 6230i, although the SE K700i is also a relaible handset with decent features.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

imho if you like photos, the SE 750i's 2 MP camera is really good quality. You can get it on T Mobile's 16.50 for 18 months contract, if that's what you've signed up for. If you are on PAYG or UFix, T Mobile don't have as much choice when it comes to phones as Orange or O2. There are some nice looking new phones "coming soon" (March?) on both SE and Nokia's websites, just to confuse you further ;-), some of them may be offered by T Mobile. I find them more helpful on the phone than in their shops.

Well having returned Motorola slvr, which I hated, Vodafone rang me tonight and offered me N70 for free, took 6 weeks of haggling. It will be my first Nokia so I'm hoping it is as good as I've heard.
if i had known then what i know now
