Hi all

Sorry if this has been asked before, I would like to know who is the cheapest English mobile phone provider “pay as you go” to call or text back to England from France?? (mobile to mobile) or (mobile to landline)

depending on the length of your stay, getting a French SIM might be worth looking at - the ordinary call charges are fairly high but there are some add-on inclusive packages that would be interesting with a calling card, or otherwise use a callback service at around 15p to UK landlines

Deffo get a French sim. I have used the SFR ones and found texting quite cheap. Also, get the person in the UK to call you on your French sim via a cheap route. Roaming charges for UK sims are still ridiculous...

Thanks for that, I have virgin mobile phone and have just received 4 FREE Sims with £5.00 call credit on each one.(via this site)
so I have £20 worth of credit up to now, I plan to use to text home.

yep, texts would be better (35p), as outgoing calls 95p per minute
