Hey everyone,
I'm having alot of trouble with plucking up the courage to start properly revising for my theory test. The first time I went for my theory test which was quiet a while ago now I failed but that was because I got pushed into it by my mums ex and I only had two weeks to revise. I was in the process of doing my driving lessons but stopped them recently because I thought it would be best because I wanted to crack on with reading the highway code but I still haven't got around to it. I would like to know if there is any way of pushing myself to revise for it because I don't really revise at all and even when I revised using the CD and done mock exams the percentage I got would jump up and down every so often. The main reason I'd like to speed things up is because I want to get it out of the way and also my mum told me that I can go on as a named driver on our motability car which my mum thought would give me that bit of a push but even that hasn't worked. Can anyone help me?????

Yes, the technique is known as "stop being so bloody lazy".0

look at road signs and stuff
I dont think you reallyy need to study to pass, just be observant0 -
Top tip: click but don't click too much on the hazard perception.
It's all part of the test's stupid electronic computer game thing which basically thinks your cheating if you click too much. Scan and look for the main hazards then click. I failed my first test for clicking too much: was gutting.0 -

Agreed, try studying instead of asking silly questions on forums.0 -

"Only" two weeks?
I'm sure I revised for a lot less than that. I got the minimum pass mark for Hazard Perception, but very easily passed the theory.
Driving test theory has got to be one of the easiest tests to revise for. Any one piece of software generates as good as infinitely many tests, so you can really just revise by practising.0 -
in passed mine with full maks i couldnt beklive it as i had never passed anything before anyway i found the highway code really hard, bsm and aa do some work books i used them and i brought the cdrom and just went thro the muiltible choice question until i know what th anserw was before finishing the qustions but yea dont just click on the hazard pereception0

Not having had to sit one, I tried some of the online ones. Needless to say the first effort was very bad. However when you actually read the questions and concentrate it is mostly common sense. However I did wonder how some of the questions were relevant!
If you want to drive enough you will knuckle down and just get on with it. If sitting down and revising is a struggle why not do the revision in short bursts eg whilst on the throne?0 -
How difficult do you actually think these tests are? Its hardly rocket science.
Try this:
1. Book test appointment
2. 4 days beforehand, buy the DSA Driving Test Kit i.e. the revision disc and the hazard perception disc (£19.99)
3. Revise like mad and work through all of the HP disc several times so you recognise all the film clips - and the hazards. This means having to separate yourself from the Xbox, Wii or PS3 for a few hours a day. If you can't do that then you need to ask yourself the question "How much do I really want to pass this test?" If the answer is "I'm not sure" then go back to bed and forget about driving.
4. Pass test
5. Sell DSA kit on eBay
That is what Number 1 son did 10 days ago. He is no genius by any stretch of the imagination. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Hey everyone,
Thought ud all be pleased to know that I started studying the highway code on monday and I have decided that Im going to have a month to study and then a month to revise on the cd. Hopefully after I have done both I should be ready.
Do you think 2 months is enough to work on it because I don't want to take forever doing it because the sooner I get it done and out of the way the better.MarkAldridge0
