The SKY man wired it when I got SKY a few months ago which was when roughly the problems started.
Hmmm... I might be wrong but I don't remember you mentioning that before ;)

I`m using my neighbours PC to access MSE and my mail. If Orange do not rectify the problem in 2 days as they say, I will send u the pic of the set up.
I can try and describe it again. The BT socket is fixed to the wall. From that socket is a two slot adaptor for BT socket plugs. Going into the side of the adaptor, hard wired, is the telephone line leading to the SKY box. Back to the two slotted adaptor... from the left socket is the connection to the modem, and from the right socket is the cable to my telephone, with an ADSL filter in between. Hope this clarifies the set up.

Please refer to our earlier posts. You have the filter in the wrong place. It must be plugged into the BT socket, then plug the splitter into it, then you can connect your phone and Sky box to the splitter. The way you have it set up, the Sky box is unfiltered. As far as the ADSL is concerned, a Sky box is just another telephone (it has a modem in it), so it must be filtered.
With your upstairs phone as well, you have been trying to connect with 2 devices out of 3 unfiltered. Not surprising it's not working properly.

... and for those that like pictures :)

These are the ones usually supplied by Tiscali or whatever, and allow you to plug a phone or analog modem in as well.

    I said "roughly", not "when".

Yes but it's quite a coincidence. Sort your filters out first and then the other potential problems may become clearer.

So could you not have told us earlier than 28 posts in that when you got Sky this was when the problem started? You said earlier that you had broadband for 4 months and that it has never worked properly. Which came first-Orange or Sky?
I suggest you remove the Sky line completely while you retest. Put filters on both sockets, up and downstairs, they must be next to the socket, nowhere else.
If it doesn't work it is either the Sky bodge up screwing up the ADSL signal, or a faulty router or bad install of the Livebox software,
BTW you still haven't confirmed what router you are using.

Thanks for your reply, but as per the reply to Old Codger, I said that this was "roughly" when the problem started, not "when".
I will try that although, as said, I have tried all combinations. Orange have interjected in this thread and are going to call to sort it out.
    Thanks for all you assistance.

Good luck, but if after 6 hours with tech support, Orange haven't asked you if or where you have filters installed, I wouldn't hold out much hope of them solving it for you by a phone call.
There are no other 'combinations'. It will only work if the filter is upstream of the device it has to filter.
Do come back and tell us the conclusion.

I had tried that combination of filters from the BT box previously. I have now totally disconnected the line to the SKY box, put the filters out of the BT socket, re-set the thing, and lo and behold...broadband.
    Thanks to all.

Great! Sorry but what do you mean 'put the filters out of the BT socket, re-set the thing'? Do you mean, filters are now plugged straight inot the BT sockets?
If you are out of contract with Sky you can leave the box unplugged, but if it in 1st 12 months of contract then you are required by Sky to have it plugged in. I would just get a replacement RJ11 cable and ditch the hard wired one which may be causing a short.
Now try getting your £160 back off Orange...

    :rotfl:

Not much hope of that I suspect, but this does prove just how useless they are.
