Weekly Spend Challenge W/C 22nd March

This challenge used to run every week (thanks to Moozie and PAP) but I have not seen it in a while so I hope no one minds but I need this to keep me on track ...

Hello everyone a010.gif. Welcome to the weekly spend challenege. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track.

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever. clapping.gif

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her around last year

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Hello budgeteers,

I made it just under budget last week. This week I am pledging £10 and if I make it this should hopefully be my regular amount I can stick to meaning the extra £20 usually budgeted can be put in the treat pot for a rainy day or go towards weekend treats for Friday night / Saturday.

I think this is going to be a really hard week as I get paid on Thursday and will want to spend spend spend even though I know I can't afford to! Also £10 is not very much to make it this week I am going to have to make sure lunch is organised as I slip up could blow the budget.

    Good luck all.:T

:o I failed last week. One of the reasons being I didn't take my spending diary with me so I got all out of control and reckless. The other reason is there's stuff going on at work that stressed me out and forced (:rotfl: ) me to buy a big slab of chocolate cake friday lunchtime!
I spent around £20 in total so shameful red for me.

Thanks for the new thread as usual. This week is payday so I'll go for a reckless £25 please. I've spent £6 on daffodils for my Mom so far.

Have a lovely day all (especially any mums)

Oh if you bought chocolate then that is ok. Isn't work a bummer sometimes! I have another 3 weeks before I can eat chocolate and I quite fancy some

First post has been updated. Lots of green this week looks like everyone has been doing well.

    Afternoon!

Gonna get back into it this week, I have £12.50 in my purse so that is my budget this week. Have to stick to it because I have £100 to last until payday on the 9th and I'm off to france next Sunday with uni so have to be suuuuuuper careful. Oh, and my birthday party's on the 4th :p

The play went really well, and I have a whole week of no rehearsing now! Much as I love performing, it'll be good to have a bit of a rest and (more importantly) catch up on assignment work!

    Good luck this week everyone!

Um...... PP you seem to have marked me Green? which is nice but doesn't reflect the figures!
It should be payrise time at work but instead its lots of rumours time and we are not being told whats going on - doesn't sound great, so choc cake was a vital to get me through the day.
PP roll on easter for you (I assume thats when you get to eat chocolate):EasterBun :EasterBun :EasterBun

:hello:Tixy, sorry my mistake you are now red

Sorry to hear about work that doesn't sound too promising, I hope things work out well for you. Yes I can eat chocolate at Easter which still seems so far away:mad:

ladymay glad to hear you have a week of rest to look forward to and assignments of course. How long until you are finished?

  • I spent £9.91, so green for me (just). I've got some bus and train tickets to buy this week so I'm doing a bit of creative budgeting. :D I'm pledging £15, but aiming not to go over £12. And the change that isn't in coppers will go straight back in the bank next Mon, along with the 5p that wasn't coppers for this week. I'm still using the coppers to pay my debt off, so they need counting again soon. I think I've got another £1 in 2p coins now.
